The first state of the art cyber police station will be soon functional in 2016 at Shimla, equipment’s for setting up the police station has been obtained.
The cyber police station will be set up near the Police Headquarters where the high-tech lab were developed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kumar said, “The equipment for the cyber police station has been received and sanction for the accessories has been accorded, only a formal notification is awaited.”
A DSP will command the police station and the staff will be instructed regarding different perspectives of cyber crime and the advanced crime detection methods.
The cyber police station will be very helpful to recover credit card frauds, illegal downloading, child pornography, industrial surveillance, scams, cyber-terrorism, creation and distribution of viruses, etc. and it will help in managing all the illegal activities that are happening in the virtual world.
